What We Do

We believe in learning through action. We want children to discover the joy of cooking, while also obtaining the basic educational and culinary skills that come from being in the kitchen!

We get messy. We take our time. We take pride in each and every thing our students make and bake. We promote personal creativity.

We strive to instill health-conscious values in kids, along with the confidence to experiment with their own creations in the future.

Our history:

Turnip the Beet began as one chef traveling to Louisville homes in order to host birthday parties and short cooking lessons for children and families.

We moved into our first small kitchen in 2015 and quickly outgrew it. Since then, we have tried out a few locations, but are still seeking a permanent home.  If you know  of a great space, tell us!

We have evolved and grown - from just one chef, to several amazing chefs and instructors who hope to pass on their love and respect for the culinary arts to the younger generations,

We pride ourselves on having an enthusiastic staff who are both dedicated to teaching and are passionate about what they do.
